    The Innovation

The Innovation can be defined as either an introduction of a new idea or concept, or a new practical solution to an existing idea or concept.

At Vitality Vector we have developed a new technological concept that takes advantage of the desiccant qualities to dehumidify air by adsorbing water vapors from it.  This process can yield a substantial amount of distilled water virtually in any climatic zone, desalinate or purify the existing water source and efficiently and effectively cool the air even in the most hot and humid environments.

The simplicity of construction (using mostly standard and non-moving parts) insures low installation cost, minimum maintenance and no downtime. The green technology has no adverse effect on the environment. It is powered mostly by thermal energy and only needs electric energy to operate fans, small pumps and electronics. Sources of thermal energy may be various: waste heat, fuel, or solar radiation.

Waste heat will provide the minimal cost of water recovery. It is available and may be utilized in a variety of applications in the developed world.
Solar radiation is the most universal energy source as there is deficiency of fresh water in those arid areas of the world where direct solar radiation is maximal.
Burning fuel is the least desirable source of thermal energy, due to high costs and negative environmental effects.

    ATMOSPHERIC WATER RECOVERY

In the 21st century amidst the social and technological advancements, almost 1 billion people lack access to clean water, millions die and many more suffer. The mankind monumental achievements in medicine, science, and technology have been overshadowed by social inequality and the inability to provide everyone with access to the basic human needs: water, food and shelter.

There are known methods of extracting moisture from ambient air such as vapor compression technology or systems based on liquid desiccant. All existing technologies bare high manufacturing cost, high operating cost, high maintenance, and limited range of operating environment.

Vitality Vector desiccant assisted atmospheric water recovery system can extract water from ambient air almost in all climatic zones, even if the moisture content is as low as 4 gr/kg. The process requires less then 50 kwatt of electric energy and 900,000 kcal of low-grade thermal energy to recover 1000 litres of atmospheric water.

  • Desalination or Purification

    Desalination or Purification

Desalination has become a major alternative source of fresh water. The large variety of desalination techniques have been developed and employed. However, desalination  plants bare high installation cost, complicated maintenance, and have adverse effect on the marine ecosystem, mostly due to brine production.

Vitality Vector has developed low-tech methods of water desalination/purification and distillation, which overcome these obstacles.

Desiccant assisted desalination or purification system uses the same principle as the atmospheric water recovery process, only coupled with a uniquely designed water dispersing system to humidify the working air.

Thermal distillation is a known process of evaporation-condensation cycle. We have significantly improved the efficiency of the processes by developing an efficient air humidification system and a unique moisture condenser, capable of using saline water as a cooling medium. The process requires less than 40 kwatt of electric energy and 900,000 kcal of low-grade thermal energy to distillate 1000 liters of saline water. The technology is scalable.

Low operating cost.   Low maintenance.   Zero discharge.
